BIOGRAPHIES
“The band that is making men in New York City hate themselves”
FLASYD landed in the NYC underground punk scene in late 2018. Facetiously giggling through their soft name - they give new meaning to the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover,” or rather, a band by its name. This band has 99 dysfunctions, but erectile ain’t one.
The all-clit punk band releases their resentment through a sharp and sultry sound, using their sexuality as their superpower. Knowing that they’ll be objectified by the male-dominated industry, they prove themselves as skilled musicians despite this “apparent weakness” (being women).
☠
FLASYD’s self-released first full length L.P., “Always Fast, Hardly Accurate” (2024) was recorded and engineered by Gus Oberg (Grammy award winner and producer of The Strokes) and produced by Johnny T. Yerington (Glassine Box).
That recording session was round two in the studio for ⋆FLASYD⋆ after releasing their self-titled E.P. in 2019 recorded, mixed, and mastered by Oakley Munson (Black Lips) and produced by Jonothan Tobin (New York Night Train Records).
They’re currently back in the studio fucking around while composing their second L.P., “New Album” recorded by Oakley Muson once again, set to release early 2026.
☠
⋆FLASYD⋆ was quickly seen by like-minded fellow creatives such as Leatheracci’s Denise Fiacco (leather-maker to icons such as Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix) and Jeffrey Campbell.
Their song “Brain Pain” was licensed by neo-noir indie film “27” (yet to be released) written, directed, and produced by Abigail Kollek - shot in NYC’s East Village as a tribute to the area’s music scene. Keep a look out for Bratt and Syd’s lil cameo..
“Untethered” [working title] is a feature documentary following the punk band, FLASYD, through their lives and music in the New York City and LA scene. Through Bratt, Kim, and Syd, the viewer experiences the rawness of what it is to be a woman reclaiming a man’s world through song and stance. Inspired by 60s Japanese street lighting and shot on 8mm film / DV.
☠
⋆FLASYD⋆ strives to use womens’ brains for almost all of their collaborations, ever working to support their underrepresented badass bitches in all creative positions.
Come along for the ride. Expect hectic >:)

“If this is how creative and resourceful director Lorian Gish [is] with a short film, I cannot wait to see what they do with a feature film. ”
